Thank you for praying for the Christmas Gospel Concert in Mini Thni (Morley), AB, this past December. We served 250 meals each evening of the event, welcoming members from the surrounding communities: Goodstoney, Bearspaw First Nation and Chinikki First Nation.
The material we brought from ILM was well received by the community.
One lady told us she was taking our material to the Addiction Recovery Centre when she went to work that evening. Another told us, "You need to come back and help organize more of these events."
After the Christmas event, we were asked to help plan another event over the Easter weekend! We are honored to be asked to help plan another event in this community, especially over the Easter weekend. Of course, we said yes. Please pray for this upcoming event.
A little over a year ago, we hosted a testimony conference in North Battleford, Sask. called Every Story Matters . . . Including Yours. It was a time of encouragement and magnifying the Lord's name. While we were there, a friend from Loon Lake, Sask., asked about having this conference in her community. Recently, with strong involvement from the local Native fellowship, we went to her community to help host this conference.
Most of us "white-knuckled it" as we drove through snow storms to get there, and it took us twice as long to arrive, but it was well worth it. During breakfast one morning, we learned that the entire local fellowship in the community was involved in planning the event, and one of the women involved rededicated her life to the Lord.
Saturday evening, during supper, Krystal ate with a couple and the man shared with her that for the last year, he'd wondered what the "purpose of following The Path" was. She asked him if the Lord had revealed anything to him during the course of the weekend. He replied, "It seems that the Lord wants to be in my life and bring down the walls I've built around my heart."
We also had meaningful conversation with a recent widow who expressed that she was struggling with talking to God after the loss of her husband. Krystal shared her own experience of learning to trust in the Lord again through life situations, and they prayed together.
Rejoice with us as we thank the Lord for bringing down walls, for those who re-committed their lives to Him, and for the community involvement and encouragement that was experienced during the weekend. Please also pray for our new friend as she learns to trust her heart with the Lord again.
You can enjoy photos of these events on pp. 10–11.
